How to support DA going forward – DA Committees
Discussion was around volunteering for heads of Committees and volunteering under those Committee chairs. Doreen Miller currently is the committee chair for Volunteers, and we need addition support for Events, Merchandise, Facebook. Please reach out to any DA Board Member to let them know of your interest in serving as committee chair or would like to be a volunteer to support these committees heads. Committee chairs will have access to corresponding sections of the website as well. We will announce a follow-up meeting with those interested to formalize more details on Roles/Responsibilities for Committee chairs.
Deadline for membership dues is October 15, 2018, to be considered a member and retain “Active” member status on the Active Member Facebook page. Normal vetting process to follow.
Member meetings will be scheduled quarterly and membership meeting minutes will be posted in the Member section of desmondsarmy.org. Dates for future member meetings will be provided for the balance of the year at a future date.
The website has bee updated with a postal address for those who wish to send in donations/payments as an alternate method to PayPal option.
Housekeeping/Reminders – President Cannamela reminded members to stay focused on the DA Mission – Animal Abuse to dogs and cats, while keeping up-to-date on cases for other types of animals, i.e. horses, rabbits, etc. for the purposes of expanding the Desmond’s Law animal scope. You can wear a plain purple t-shirt without branding to other events of personal interest. Any questions, please reach out to a DA board member.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:05pm by C. Bouchard; second by D. Vitale; Unanimous
